The Blended ACLS Instructor Course is designed to prepare AHA instructors to disseminate the science, skills and philosophy of resuscitation programs to participants enrolled in AHA courses. The instructor course is taught according to the protocols of the AHA.
Instructor-candidates must:
- Hold a current healthcare license or certification. This includes MD, DO, APRN, RN, PA, RT/RRT, DMD/DDS (oral surgeon), or EMT-P (paramedic level).
- Be accepted for alignment with an authorized AHA training center for ACLS at the time of registration. Online TC Search Tool.
- Complete and submit an Instructor Candidate Application for the TC before enrolling in an AHA Instructor Course.
- Have current AHA provider status in the ACLS discipline and be proficient in all the applicable skills.
- Successfully complete the ACLS Instructor Essentials Online Course PRIOR to instructor-led course; no exceptions. An online Certificate of Completion must be provided prior to registration.
- Successfully complete the in-person classroom/hands-on instructor course.
- Be monitored successfully teaching ACLS, within 6 months of completing the hands-on Instructor Course; if needed, TC Coordinators may require additional monitoring.
