Advanced Disaster Life Support™ (ADLS®)

Advanced, hands-on training in mass casualty and disaster management

The Advanced Disaster Life Support™ (ADLS®) course is an intensive 15-hour practicum designed to allow participants to demonstrate competencies in mass casualty management. It builds on disaster knowledge from BDLS and provides deeper experiences with interactive lectures and training scenarios focused on complex disaster and public health emergency operations.
The course covers population-based disaster care, mass-casualty triage and surge planning, emergency operations center coordination, health system and community response, and the legal, ethical, and regulatory principles guiding crisis standards of care. It also includes PPE selection and decontamination, along with hands-on clinical skills practice through simulated all-hazards scenarios, disaster casualty management exercises, and tabletop simulations.

Prerequisites

Current BDLS® provider certification is required.

Certification

Certifications in ADLS® remain active for three (3) years from the date of issuance.
