Acute Coronary Syndromes & 12-Lead Interpretation for Instructors
This is an invitation-only training on two consecutive days to prepare pre-qualified paramedic instructors to teach providers a rapid and systematic approach to the prehospital evaluation and management of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Pathophysiology, clinical assessment, 12-lead ECG performance and interpretation, indications and contraindications for reperfusion therapy, and field treatment will be reviewed. This course emphasizes the standard of care as outlined in guidelines from the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. Interaction is key, through hands-on ECG performance, case-based workshops, an interactive training scenario, and the presentation of heart and lung auscultatory findings in ACS patients.
Participants must score an 84% or higher on the provider course posttest to be eligible for the instructor course on day 2.
This continuing education activity is approved by Commission on Accreditation for Pre-HospitalContinuing Education (CAPCE) 8.0 Advanced CEHs for Paramedic Providers.
